The sixth volume of The Arab of the Future brings the story of Riad Sattouf’s youth to a close. From high school to the beginning of his professional career, young Riad tries not without difficulty to fulfill his dream, becoming an illustrator. He is still haunted by the demoralizing comments of his father who, despite his absence, occupies his thoughts. While his family ages before his eyes and her mother is still as devastated by Fadi’s kidnapping, Riad starts a slow reconstruction that concludes this autobiographical series.
